Gedenkabend am 17. Jänner 2013
Einladung des Kulturamts der Stadt Spittal
Der Oberkärntner Dichter Josef Hopfgartner wäre im Jänner 2013 100 Jahre alt geworden.
Aus diesem Grund veranstaltet das Kulturamt der Stadt Spittal im Ahnensaal des Schlosses Porcia am Donnerstag, dem 17. Jänner 2013 mit Beginn um 19:30 Uhr einen Gedenkabend.
Aus seinen Werken lesen die Töchter Siegtrud Nink und Hadwig Schindler hochdeutsche Texte, Günther Aiglsperger und Richard Pertl mundartliche Texte.
Dem Singkreis Porcia Spittal unter der Leitung von Bernhard Wolfsgruber ist es eine Ehre, den Abend mit Liedern von Josef Hopfgartner und Hellmuth Drewes, der auch am Beginn einführende Worte spricht, musikalisch zu gestalten.
Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung wird auch das von den Töchtern herausgegebene und soeben erschienene Buch „Die Wegschad / Ein Jahr gib dem Wind“ präsentiert.

Zur Mundartdichtung findet Josef Hopfgartner nach seinem 50. Lebensjahr. Er befreit sie von den Mustern einer romantisierenden Heimatdichtung und legt so eine ausdrucksstarke Sprache frei. Vom gängigen Literaturbertieb unbeachtete, ist die Mundart entsprechend unverbraucht. Für Josef Hopfgartner wird sie zu einem kraftvollen, neuen Werkstoff.
Ich erkannte, dass echte Dichtung auch in Mundart entstehen kann, dies allerdings nur, wenn sie sich aus den erstarrten und hohl gewordenen Klischees der romantischen Betrachtungsweise des Dorfes löst…
Der Dialekt ist meine Kindheitssprache. Schriftstellerisch habe ich ihn erst genutzt, als ich in das Alter kam, in dem die Kindheit wieder stärker in das Erinnerungsfeld zu treten pflegt. (…) Ich weiß, Sprache, auch der Dialekt, ist zeit- und lebensformgebunden. Dies ist aber noch lange kein Grund, den alten Bildreichtum unserer heimatlichen Sprache in die Vergessenheit sinken zu lassen. Viel Neues strömt ein und damit auch die Aufforderung an den Dichter, das Neue in ebenso nahtloser Bezogenheit, wie dies früher geschah, in den Dialekt einzubinden. Der Mundartdichter möge nicht Einfachheit und Ursprünglichkeit mit Primitivität verwechseln.
Ich möchte beweisen, dass der Dialket geeignet ist, Vielschichtigkeit des Empfindesn und Erlebens in unverbrauchter Bildhaftigkeit auszudrücken, und dass sich die menschlichen Probleme in ihrer Grundbezogenheit zwischen Stadt und Land kaum unterscheiden.
Zur Veröffentlichung seines Buches „Die Wegschad“ (1978) schreibt der Autor:
I han a klans Büechl gmacht / das oft amal singt / und oft amal lacht. / Die schattign Weg seind drin / und was de so gehst in dein Lebn. / Und wann di was anrührt / so hast es wohl gspürt, / daß hinter die Tag / die Nächt ausarinnen / und daß in da Tiefen drinnen / die frömen Engl singen. / Hör senen immert amal / a klans bißl zue … / Noacher gspürst, / daß d `a Mensch bist, / der nit lei so eichnfrißt!
